# Anything But Amazon Find local non-Amazon retailer offers for regional Amazon products. Compare identifiers and selected variants, currency-aware item-plus-shipping totals, and delivery estimates. Read-only. No purchases. ## Tool POST /mcp (stateless Streamable HTTP JSON-RPC) Tool: find_amazon_alternatives Arguments: url (HTTPS regional Amazon product URL, a.co or amzn.to link); country (delivery country code, ask the user; inferred from full Amazon links if omitted); postalCode (optional local postal code); zip (legacy alias for postalCode); maxExtraDays (integer 0–7, default 2); demo (boolean, default false). POST /api/compare accepts the same JSON arguments. GET /api/status reports whether a provider key is configured, not whether the provider is healthy. ## Markets Amazon domains: amazon.com, amazon.co.uk, amazon.ca, amazon.com.au, amazon.com.be, amazon.com.br, amazon.cn, amazon.eg, amazon.fr, amazon.de, amazon.in, amazon.it, amazon.co.jp, amazon.nl, amazon.pl, amazon.sa, amazon.sg, amazon.es, amazon.se, amazon.com.tr, amazon.ae, amazon.com.mx Retailer search countries: AI, AR, AW, AU, AT, BE, BM, BR, IO, VG, CA, KY, CL, CX, CC, CO, CZ, DK, FK, FI, FR, GF, PF, TF, DE, GR, GP, HM, HK, HU, IN, ID, IE, IL, IT, JP, MY, MQ, YT, MX, MS, NL, NC, NZ, NF, NO, PH, PL, PT, RO, RU, RE, SA, SG, SK, ZA, GS, KR, ES, PM, SE, CH, TW, TH, TK, TC, TR, UA, AE, GB, US, VN, WF Outside these markets, live lookup returns UNSUPPORTED_MARKET. Never silently substitute US results. Short links require country. Currency follows destination country. Amazon reference retains its source currency. No FX conversion is performed. ## Grok setup Human setup guide: https://anythingbutamazon.tech/setup Grok Bot can use the comparison website through its browser. Try the explicitly fictional sample, then a live link after provider setup. Save the verified workflow as a skill. A custom Anything But Amazon plugin installation in Grok Bot has not been verified. Use the xAI Responses API remote MCP configuration. Official documentation: https://docs.x.ai/developers/tools/remote-mcp server_url: https://anythingbutamazon.tech/mcp server_label: anything_but_amazon allowed_tools: ["find_amazon_alternatives"] The public production MCP endpoint requires no Sites service token. Keep xAI API credentials on the bot server and SerpApi credentials on the comparison server. Adding this MCP server does not automatically modify the consumer Grok app. Configure it in your own Grok-powered bot, and add the shopping preference to that bot's instructions. ## Bot instruction Whenever a user sends an Amazon purchase link, call find_amazon_alternatives. Ask for their delivery country and postal code when delivery matters. Prefer an exact match in new condition, a cheaper item-plus-shipping total and delivery within their tolerance. Report missing data and uncertainty. Never buy from sample data. Ask before purchasing with a separate checkout tool. ## Response interpretation mode: demo means fictional sample only. Never use these prices or stores for purchases. match: exact requires a shared UPC/GTIN or shared brand and model with all known variants agreeing. possible means not verified. total: null when price or shipping is unknown; never treat null as zero. cheaper: null when total comparison is unavailable or the currencies differ. similarDelivery: null when either estimate is unavailable or no verified destination-specific estimate was provided (live mode). eligible: true only for an exact match, explicitly new condition, cheaper total and similar delivery. recommendationId: null means no offer meets all requirements. It does not mean no alternative exists. checkedAt is the lookup time. Provider data can be cached for up to one hour. Totals reflect reported prices; VAT may already be included. Tax, duties, import charges and shipping availability must be confirmed at checkout. Conditional member, coupon, installment and foreign-currency prices are excluded from numeric comparisons. Stock and final price must be confirmed at the retailer. ## Live data setup Site owner must configure SERPAPI_API_KEY as a server-side Vercel environment variable and redeploy. For local work use an ignored .env.local file. Never expose it to clients. Data sources: SerpApi Amazon Product, Google Shopping and Google Product APIs. One lookup uses up to six provider requests (Amazon, Shopping, four product groups). Coverage is limited to returned non-Amazon retailer URLs. Delivery parsing accepts explicit calendar-day estimates; ambiguous date promises remain unknown. Country and postal code are sent to the provider for localization. Retailer delivery text does not prove delivery to that postal address; unverified timing stays null. Without a key, live calls return PROVIDER_NOT_CONFIGURED. Demo is available only when explicitly requested. Sample request: {"url":"https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DEMO0001","country":"GB","demo":true}
